"How about you get out there, Mitch, and fight for your team? What’s your agenda, Mitch?" asks Fox News host.
Fox News host Sean Hannity blasted Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) over comments he made about Republicans’ chances of taking control of the Senate in November.
McConnell claimed Thursday that Republicans have a better chance of flipping the House than the Senate in the midterms, saying that “candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”
“Democrats are painting Republican Senate candidates in upcoming elections and midterms as cruel and out of touch,” Hannity said Friday. “Well, apparently Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is content to leave them out to dry and fend for themselves.”
“Listen to these comments, they’re very encouraging,” he said before playing a clip of McConnell’s remarks.
Hannity noted Democrat leadership wasn’t making any critical comments of its own senate candidates, such as John Fetterman in Pennsylvania, who’s pushing unpopular and radical policies and is unable to coherently speak at campaign events following his stroke.
“You don’t hear [Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.)] complaining about candidate quality in Pennsylvania,” Hannity continued, referring to Fetterman.
“How about you get out there, Mitch, and fight for your team? What’s your agenda, Mitch, or would you rather just sit by and watch helplessly as Democrats lie to your face, pass another $500 billion green energy boondoggle?”
“His time as a leader needs to come to an end,” Hannity concluded.
It appears McConnell is more content with remaining minority leader in the senate rather than risking a chance for Republicans to take over without him remaining in a leadership role.
